Shah Deniz Field, Azerbaijan

The Shah Deniz offshore gas field is the most significant gas field discovered in Azerbaijan in the last 20 years, with estimated reserves of more than 500 billion cubic metres. Dornan’s involvement with the BP Shah Deniz Field began in 1998 on the Shelf 5 semi-submersible drilling rig, and continued in 2003 with civil, mechanical and electrical upgrade works at the Zykh yard. In 2005, we were awarded the main electrical and instrumentation contract for the TPG 500 platform – one of the most advanced platforms in the world.
