Project Description
A new research facility with 2 floors of Biological Support Units, Mezzanine level with AHU plant supporting the BSU. The ground and first floors will accommodate laboratory space including MRI’s, PET scan and coolers. The 2nd floor was designed with future adaptability in mind but will generally be office, write-up or low level laboratory accommodation.
- All levels are set to a pressure regime achieved by a full dynamic VAV system run by the BMS in the BSU and manual balanced static system in the labs and write up floors.
- A PVC Fume extract system inclusive of HEPA filters serving Hot cells, fume cupboards and AFOS table.
- The BSU is served by Steam Generators fed from the RO water plant serving Autoclaves, tunnel & cage washers and humidifiers to maintain RH in the BSU.
- The labs are supported by medical gases N2, CO2, O2 & He, Compressed air, Vacuum and De-ionised water.
- Radiation monitoring system including effluent, probe & room sensors with PET/SPECT monitors and hand foot and gown access control.
- LTHW & CHW systems serving AHU’s, FCU’s and Autoclaves are fed from main duty assist boiler and chillers.
