Extending Ireland’s natural gas pipeline has brought the benefits of gas to many more communities. Dornan completed the electrical, instrumentation, civil and mechanical works for six above-ground installations, with a fenced-off spread to receive gas from the 30″ main pipeline supplied at 82 bar, reducing to 3 bar for supply to domestic and commercial customers.

Cork School of Music
The Cork School of Music is unusual in the education world in that it teaches at all levels, from primary through to postgraduate. Dornan was delighted to undertake the mechanical work on this spectacular new building on the College’s old site by the River Lee, installing HVAC systems for tuition rooms, two auditoria, a restaurant, a library, offices and all domestic services. One of the main challenges was to ensure that all services run as quietly as possible.
WUXI Biologics, Dundalk, Co. Dublin
WuXi Biologics built its first production plant outside China in Ireland. The plant is 48,000M2 and is set to become the world’s largest single-use biologics manufacturing facility.
Lilly IE42, Cork
Dornan won the electrical, instrumentation and HVAC hook-up contract for this new production facility at Lilly’s Kinsale site. Our work on this project won us Lilly’s ‘Global Contractor of the Year Award’ in 2009 – the first time the award had been made to a contractor outside the USA.
MSD Vaccines, Carlow
Carlow is a state-of-the-art, 200,000ft2 human vaccines facility, where Dornan was commissioned to install new mechanical infrastructure in the Vaccine Fill-Finish Facility.
Lilly IE28, Cork
Dornan completed the biotech lab fit-out of Lilly’s two-storey IE28 building, with laboratories, offices and support rooms, with all utilities to be tied into existing services. The mechanical systems were planned, coordinated, installed, tested, commissioned and documented to enable the client to fully validate the facility.

Analog Devices designs and manufactures the kind of analogue, mixed-signal and digital signal processing integrated circuits used in virtually all types of electronic equipment.
Lilly Kinsale, Cork – Ireland
Lilly has been manufacturing small molecules at Kinsale since 1981. It expanded into biotech production in 2012 and Dornan was contracted to provide electrical and instrumentation services to extend this capability in 2015.
