Cork Institute of Technology

The Student Centre, Tourism & Catering Studies Building is part of the dramatically curved redevelopment of the Cork Institute of Technology’s North Campus. It’s on two floors, with six teaching kitchens, two production kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, a lecture theatre, computer laboratories, language laboratories, classrooms, staff accommodation and ancillary rooms. Dornan completed the mechanical services installation.

Scope of works

• LPHW system serving the displacement system to the lecture theatre
• Dedicated HVAC systems to two production kitchens
• Dedicated HVAC systems to pastry kitchens
• Large dining hall HVAC including servery, training bar and ‘hotel suite’
• Extensive gas distribution and detection system for kitchens
