Dornan has been involved in the ACG field development since 1997 with the Chirag 1 Platform. This platform was the first off-shore platform to be constructed in the Caspian Sea by a western oil company. This project had a very tight schedule and Dornan completed the on-shore phase of the platform installation in a 16 week period. Once the on-shore phase of the platform was completed and floated into position, Dornan completed the off-shore hook-up, pre-commissioning and assisted the client with the commissioning phase. Chirag 1 was one of the first projects involving a combined Azeri and Western labour force. Since the outset Dornan has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with its Azeri workforce and has invested in and provided extensive training and education to all its employees. As a result of this continued investment in training and education over 95% of Dornan’s employees in Azerbaijan are Azeri Nationals. | |
