Dow Chemical awards Dornan E&I contract in Stade, Germany.

Dornan is pleased to announce the award of the Electrical and Instrumentation Works on the Dow Chemical CoGen project in Stade (near Hamburg), Germany. Foster Wheeler Italiana is the overall EPCM contractor for the project.

The new Cogeneration power plant is an integral part of Dow Stade Energy Transformation (SET) Progam for their Petrochemical facility. The plant consists of power and steam generating facilities and includes three GTG’s (Gas Turbine Generator) - HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) trains and one Steam Turbine Generator as well as interconnecting auxiliary facilities. It will have a capacity of 150 Megawatts of power and associated cogenerated steam.

Dornan is the main Electrical and Instrumentation contractor for the project and our scope relates primarily to the three Heat Recovery Steam Generators areas and to the associated Balance of Plant.

This is a significant award for Dornan and represents our first contract with both Dow and Foster Wheeler Italiana. The project continues our presence in the German petrochemical market following the recent completion of the Ticona project in Frankfurt with Fluor.
